Inspire the Women of Auburn

Tiger Giving Day is over, but you can still give to the Auburn Alumni Association here.

This Fund for Excellence is established by the Auburn Alumni Association to honor the first three women who enrolled at Auburn University in 1892. Its purpose is to support future “Women of Auburn” strategic initiatives and programs.

Katherine Broun – Katherine C. Broun (1873-1952) was the daughter of William L. Broun, Auburn University president from 1882-1902. To be admitted as an inaugural female student, Broun took tests in English, Latin, history and mathematics. She was notably Auburn’s first graduate student after receiving her bachelor’s degree in 1894.

 Willie Little – Willie Gertrude Little (1873-1949) was the daughter of Auburn’s mayor and one of the first Auburn alumna. She graduated in 1894 with a bachelor’s degree and honors. Little Hall in the Upper Quad is named in her honor.

 Margaret Teague – Margaret Kate Teague (1873-1960) moved from Arkansas to Auburn after her mother’s death. Along with Broun and Little, Teague was admitted to the university and graduated with honors. Teague Hall in the Upper Quad is named in her honor.
