Tiger Giving Day is over, but you can still give to the Auburn Eating Disorder Clinic here.
Almost 30 million Americans (and over 430,000 Alabamians) will have an eating disorder in their lifetime. A primary goal of the Auburn Eating Disorders Clinic (AEDC) is to alleviate the financial burden some families and adults face when seeking therapy services for eating disorders.
The AEDC provides empirically supported (high quality), low-cost services to members within the Auburn-Opelika area.
Many adults and families have expressed interest in our therapy services, yet many are unable to pay for them, even at a reduced fee. Outside of the AEDC, licensed providers specializing in treatment of eating disorders are limited in the Auburn-Opelika area, cost can be a prohibitive barrier for many individuals, and the current pandemic has contributed to an increase in eating disorders and eating disorder severity across the United States and Alabama.
Your gifts would continue to support student training in evidence-based practice; the provision of exceptional and evidence-based services for children, teens and adults with eating disorders; the purchase of materials necessary for training and therapy services, and support additional administrative staff to help manage an increasing number of clients as the clinic grows.
We aim to provide clinical services both in-person and via telehealth, which allows a greater number of individuals in the state of Alabama to access services.
Thank you and War Eagle!
