Now in its 11th year, the Week of Service program continues to be a transformative initiative that embodies the Auburn spirit of academic excellence and community engagement. This program represents a powerful commitment to service, justice and education, providing students with a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on their local communities.
During Tiger Giving Day, the Honors College hopes to raise $10,0000 that will go directly to the acquisition of much-needed supplies, including safety equipment, tools, cleaning supplies and more. These essential items are crucial for making the Week of Service a reality, enabling our students to maximize their impact by actively assisting, building, cleaning and restoring.
Since its inception, thousands of incoming Honors students have dedicated a week before the fall semester to volunteering and immersing themselves in service-learning experiences that go beyond traditional classroom boundaries. Participants actively seek to raise awareness about the causes and consequences of poverty at the national, state and local levels. Through education and service, the program aims to foster a sense of responsibility and encourage proactive solutions to social issues.
The Week of Service program builds on the Honors College's rich tradition of service. It not only complements the academic achievements of our students but also instills in them a sense of duty to continue serving their communities long after graduation.
