The Campus Kitchen at Auburn University (CKAU) seeks to create mobile food pantries strategically positioned across Auburn and Opelika to directly address the pressing issue of food insecurity within our community.
By establishing accessible mobile pantries, we aim to provide immediate relief to families and individuals who experience challenges in accessing an adequate food supply, and eliminate any stigma associated with receiving items vital to a person’s health.
Funding from this Tiger Giving Day will assist CKAU in building, maintaining and stocking the mobile pantries for the first year. Any additional funding raised will go towards addressing potential long-term solutions for food insecurity in our community.
Through the placement of these mobile food pantries, we are extending our reach beyond conventional meal deliveries and our on-campus location in Lupton Residence Hall. This approach allows us to engage with a wider demographic, fostering a stronger sense of community support and outreach throughout Lee County.
Your gifts will not just address hunger but support the personal dignity and wellbeing of our community’s neediest members.
