The Auburn Student Chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is a nonprofit volunteer organization focused on improving the lives of people in impoverished communities. We serve areas where the things we take for granted—water, electricity, and heat—are not accessible. Our focus is to help build a better world through engineering projects that support and empower communities to meet their basic human needs.
Our recent work in Quesimpuco, Bolivia has consisted of implementing an irrigation system to replace an earthen aqueduct that will enable the hard-hit community to grow multiple crop rotations per year and substantially increase their annual yield.
A new water storage tank will allow them to provide for their community and create a sustainable source of income.
Your gift this Tiger Giving Day will help alleviate financial costs for our students traveling to this area, will help prepare the team ahead of time, and will help make this trip a reality.
Engineers Without Borders helps current Auburn engineering students get hands-on experience implementing various infrastructure systems across the world.
