Pre-Med Study Abroad Program
The College of Sciences and Mathematics has some of the best, brightest, and most-prepared students entering professional programs around the country. In an effort to further enhance our already stellar pre-professional programs, for the first time, we are taking a group of students on a Pre-Med Study Abroad Program in London, England. The trip will take place May 8-21, 2017.
Participants will have an opportunity to gain a global perspective on healthcare by shadowing physicians and touring the medical schools at King’s College London, University of Sheffield, and St. George’s Hospital. They will also visit museums, including the Florence Nightingale Museum and the Hunterian Museum – Royal College of Surgeons, and take a walking tour of Eyam, the Plague Village, and the Eyam Museum.
Your support of the study abroad experience in London through the Tiger Giving Day will allow two students with financial need to participate in this invaluable, life-changing student experience.

Old Operating Theatre
The Old Operating Theatre is the only 19th century operating theater in England. Our students will explore the history of surgery and herbal medicine in this restored museum.

Florence Nightingale Museum
The Florence Nightingale Museum celebrates the life and work of the world’s most famous nurse. Our students will examine Florence’s legacy, her influence on nursing today and the continuing relevance of her work.

Wellcome Museum
The Wellcome Museum of Anatomy and Pathology supports medical trainees and professionals in their study and understanding of human anatomy and pathology. Our students will get an inside look at a museum that is typically not open to undergraduates.

Royal College of Surgeons
The Royal College of Surgeons aims to advance standards and reduce the variability of patient outcomes; attract, education, develop and support high-quality surgeons; and influences and shape future health policy and practice to advance standards of surgical care. Our students will learn how the RCS operates.
